This was my first class back postpartum and Janice checked in on my recovery and return. She offered modifications to help with some injuries I’m working through and made sure I was moving weights safely.
Tatum’s instructions were clear and precise and the class organized very efficiently - with individual input, guidance and encouragement as warranted.
Shaina is so very patient, encouraging, and tough in a kind way. At 55 and new to CrossFit, I was nervous about starting something so different, but Shaina’s calm guidance made all the difference. She carefully watches each movement, gently correcting my form when needed, and always encourages me to keep going. The way she balances pushing me hard without ever making me feel overwhelmed creates a workout that’s challenging yet completely doable. I am really glad I joined Crossfit Newtown.

Janice is super knowledgeable and does a great job explaining even the most technical moves in a very relatable way. She breaks down complex movements into simple steps that make them feel doable, no matter your skill level. I love her classes at Crossfit Newtown because she’s always watching closely and offering tips on form. This gym has a great community and vibe. I can’t imagine not working out here!
Carrie is an outstanding coach who truly goes above and beyond. She is incredibly helpful and always shares valuable tips to improve our workouts. Carrie has a great eye for detail, ensuring everyone in class maintains proper form, and she does it in a way that feels supportive and encouraging. Her ability to motivate us and make us feel good about ourselves creates such a positive environment. Outside of class, Carrie is just as amazing—she’s very responsive to my texts, always answering questions promptly and helping me resolve any issues with the app, like signing up for classes. Her dedication and care make a huge difference, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

First session in the books, great atmosphere and even if you think you’re in good shape the level of intensity you choose for each set will challenge all levels of fitness!

Somedays, the stars align, and everything just clicks, today was one of those days. Thanks to the instruction from Coach Tatum, I had a challenging yet fulfilling class, one for the books... or at least worthy of recording my scores into push press. From our gymnastics skill work to our WOD, Coach Tatum gave all the right cues, helpful hints, and pacing instructions to have a meaningful, move-the-needle workout.

Janice is amazing! I took six sessions with her and she made me feel so comfortable. She had so many great suggestions and patience with me. She is super personable and just an overall great coach and role model. I am super excited about my CrossFit journey! I've only been doing CrossFit for a year but travel a ton so am always dropping in somewhere and your gym is top tier! The coach came right up to me, introduced himself and gave me a lay of the land, also corrected me during my snatch (which is excellent marker for coaching because I've been to places that couldn't care less about drop ins) and everyone was super friendly! Also, super clean, another key metric for me.
Carrie and the entire coaching staff is top notch. I have been to many CrossFit Gyms. I put them at the top.

Janice is amazing. I am working through a labral tear that began hurting again after I pushed myself a bit too hard and was forced to pause workouts for 1.5 weeks while it healed. I was worried about heading back to the gym and possibly setting things back again. Janice worked with me to find alternatives to the exercises that kept me in the game and helped me avoid further exacerbation of my hip pain. She's wonderful, and so knowledgeable and supportive.
Janice (and Carrie) were exceptional, as always. I’m injured, but they still found time and ways to help me. They are the best!

I love working out with Shaina. I like her energy and engagement through out the entire class. She always check in with the athletes before, during and after class to see how we are doing and always has an array of modifications if we need some adjustments to the workout. This CrossFit gym is awesome. The programming is really effective and great. The coaches are also all amazing and so helpful! I usually take classes when Shaina is coaching and she is so great! She answers questions thoroughly and explains things really well. Thank you! Not to be cheesy, but CrossFit has changed many aspects of my life in a positive way and that I am grateful for.

today was my first cross fit class - Shaina was the instructor and my 6 session on boarding coach. I felt very well prepared for the session and the instructions were clear. Shaina gave great guidance through out the session and helped 1) correct form 2) provide modifications. I also appreciated that she introduced me at the start of class. The workout was tough but doable and I was happy with how the first session went.
Janice takes the time to work with each participant and give feedback and tips on ways to improve form or just to provide encouragement. She meets people where they are and is super helpful in providing alternative movements and stretches for those with injuries or limitations, like myself . She cares and makes everyone feel welcome. It’s a good day when I can make it to one of her classes☺️

Class was challenging. I am very thankful for Janice’s energy. I have no had a workout like that in a long time. She not only reminded me of the necessary cues to proficiently perform each movement but checked in on me multiple times to make sure I was comfortable. She also introduced me to the class. Everyone made me feel very comfortable. I can not wait to come back :) next time I look forward to making time to stretc after the workout. Her warm up really helped warm up the necessary muscles as well!!

For me it was really good. It was great balance of strength and conditioning. I liked that Janice gave me an option to push myself ( added weight ) if I felt I could do more or stay with current if my body wasn’t ready for it all . The conditioning was really good. I was really got my heart rate up in a strong and healthy way. I don’t think I would push myself as hard on my own .
Kayla was great as always. The pace for the class was consistent and she did a good job making sure everyone was working hard in a safe manner.

Shaina is awesome - she brings a good balance of knowledge, energy, and humor to class and keeps the class flowing efficiently. She gave me a cue to help improve my bar muscle-ups… I’ve never felt the “effortlessness” that I often admire about others’ bar muscle ups until I took the cue from Shaina to straighten my legs. We are lucky to have her at CFN!

I like the EMOMs (letters?), it makes it feel like the session goes faster, lol. Kayla always provides modifications to meet everyone's individual needs. There's nothing better than hearing the 3 second countdown. Each session is challenging and Kayla is always supportive and encouraging everyone to do their best.

Carrie is awesome! Coached me to push my knees out in my deadlift, which made a big difference. Explains every movement with just enough detail and demonstration.
Coaching was great. Corrected me on pulling early for hang. Is a bad habit I need to break, so being instructed to do two high pulls in our strength helped. Also liked that we were corrected during class. Still something to work on but appreciate the attention and help.

I love CrossFit but always feel a little nervous when I drop in someone other than my home gym. Michelle immediately introduced herself when I walked in and explained what we were doing. She helped on my form in both snatches and pull ups. She pointed out the bathroom and the water fountain immediately which maybe is a small thing but both things I usually always have to hunt out when I drop in at other gyms. I don’t love snatches and I managed to rip my hand two sets from the end of the workout but my experience was a ten out of ten and I can’t wait to drop in when I’m back in town!

Kayla was a really good coach. Explained the warmup and workout as well as had the movements demonstrated by herself or a class member. She kept the class moving through the different phases to start and end on time. During the warmup she worked through the class to give tips to different people. This is my second time dropping in and both times were great, if we lived in the area this would be our gym.
