It was my day 1 at Leander CrossFit, and Mike was very welcoming and motivating from the start. He took the time to watch my form closely and corrected my technique on the behind-the-neck split jerk, guiding me through each movement with clear, practical tips. His encouragement made me feel confident and eager to improve, turning what could have been an intimidating first session into a positive, energizing experience. The gym itself had a great atmosphere - focused but friendly - which helped me feel right at home.

The warm-up was thorough, well designed to prepare us for the workout ahead by gradually increasing our heart rate and loosening up key muscle groups. Evan always watches for form and wellness, closely observing anyone who might be struggling and stepping in to offer adjustments or encouragement. He makes sure we maintain proper technique to avoid injury and maximize effectiveness. His attentiveness creates a motivating atmosphere at Leander CrossFit where you feel supported but challenged at the same time. 5 stars!

Five stars, obviously, because nothing says “personal growth” like sobbing through burpees while she chirps, “Pain is just weakness leaving the body… or maybe you’re dying, who knows!” Her programming is a chaotic fever dream of muscle-ups, wall balls, and whatever sadistic implement she found in the lost-and-found. I came for fitness; I left with a PhD in random nonsense: did you know pineapples are berries, but strawberries aren’t? Or that octopuses have three hearts and zero chill? She drops these “fun facts” mid-WOD like intellectual grenades while you’re inverted on the rings. Thanks to her, I’m now 1% fitter, 99% traumatized, and 100% convinced she runs on pre-workout and spite. Sign up. You’ll hate it. You’ll love it. You’ll never walk normally again.
El Cucuy ★★★★★ ¡Órale, Coach Cucuy is the absolute *rey del box*! I joined his CrossFit class thinking I’d just get swole, but this vato turned me into a burpee-blasting, kettlebell-swinging *máquina*... and somehow a housekeeping ninja too? Every WOD he yells “¡Vámonos, no seas flojo!” while blasting Vicente Fernández louder than my tía’s novela. One day mid-AMRAP he drops this gem: “¿Sabías que vinegar and baking soda clean better than your abuela’s chancla after a party?” Next thing I know, I’m PR’ing my clean-and-jerk AND scrubbing my shower like a *chido* Cinderella. He once made us do wall balls with a twist: miss the target, learn a fact. I ate 47 reps and now know that dryer sheets repel mosquitos better than OFF! and that lemon rinds in the garbage disposal make your kitchen smell like a taquería in heaven. Coach cucuy doesn’t just coach—he *curates chaos*. My glutes are crying, my lungs are doing the Macarena, and my house has never been cleaner. If CrossFit had a Michelin star for “Most Likely to Make You Laugh Until You Drop the Bar,” he’d have *cinco estrellas, cabrón*. ¡Sign up or I’ll make you do burpees with a mop!

Elissa is an excellent coach! She always gives plenty of warm up time and provides scaling options that will work perfectly for me. She will give me the perfect queues during my workout when she knows I can do better. It's hard to beat that kind of coaching. Elissa knows how to push me right up to my limits while keeping my form safe, effective, and fun. (Yes, ending my workout on the floor can be fun!).
Jim is awesome coach, very knowledgeable, unique warm ups and always make class enjoyable.

Coach Jim is awesome! He always keeps us motivated and makes sure we give 100% every time. His classes are super fun — he cracks jokes, comes up with creative warm-ups, and keeps things fresh. What I really appreciate is how he works around injuries and gives modifications so everyone can keep moving safely. I’ve been training with him for almost two years, and I’ve seen a huge difference in both my fitness and my confidence. Jim genuinely cares about his athletes and knows how to push us in the best way. Highly recommend him if you want to improve and have fun doing it!

She’s also great at keeping the integrity of the class intact by respectfully addressing interruptions during class (i.e. people talking, people walking in class while it’s on going, injury prevention, etc.). She ensures that athletes have a positive experience in class. Love going to Michelle’s class!

Michele is an awesome coach. Even though we’ve done Russian twists many many times. I was reminded it’s not a full twist unless past hips. Also even though today was a community workout she emphasized correct form and own your workout!

She was good today morning just like her other days. What I love the most about today’s class was the planning of the workouts. She made sure it will done just in time. The pre-workout was good too.

I think he does a great job. Manages the time effectively and does well at managing the large classes. Only negative I would say is, I don’t like being corrected/critiqued mid-lift. Would rather finish my lift first, but that is pretty minimal and could just be unique to my preferences. Overall, he’s a good coach.

Sometimes I feel embarrassed to scale or ask questions, but Michelle was encouraging and helped me scale appropriately and in a way that was still challenging and gave me a great workout.

Michael always verbally explains movements well, so I can understand. Along with showing the movement of course. Whenever he shows the "do not do this" movement it's always helpful because let's be honest, I do those things. Love the reminders before the work starts to make sure you DO certain things SO YOU DON'T HURT YOURSELF. I love them even more when I'm in the middle of the WOD because I sometimes get sucked into just getting the rep in the allotted time instead of focusing on my quality. Crossfit is a dangerous sport; and you can't make/keep gains if you're out of the game. Lastly, Michael is very approachable whenever I have questions. And the man seems to always be cheerful with a sincere "nice work" when the workout is done, love it. Always a good day for me when Michael is coaching.
