When I workout by myself it takes me forever because I tend to procrastinate moving on to the next thing I wrote down, and somehow it ends up taking an hour longer than I expected. I also find myself changing some of the exercises I originally planned because I don’t feel like doing them. At Crystal Coast CrossFit, Coach John does a great job managing time so that workouts stay on track without feeling rushed. He carefully explains each movement, breaking down the form step-by-step, which makes it easier to follow and understand. What really stands out is how he demonstrates different ways to scale or improve a movement tailored to the individual’s ability - whether it’s adjusting the range of motion or suggesting alternative weights - making sure everyone can get the most out of the workout. This personalized approach keeps me motivated and focused, and I appreciate how he checks in during the session to help me refine my form or encourage me to push a little harder. It’s clear he’s paying attention and genuinely wants to help each person succeed, which makes the whole experience feel supportive and efficient.

Good morning! I really enjoyed the class. I think there was a good warmup and plenty of explanation of the workout. I also enjoyed all of the scaling options available for all levels. The gym was clean and organized too, which I really appreciated. Finally, I appreciated feedback and small tips to improve skills work and the general upbeat attitude. Overall I had a very positive first class this morning. Thank you!!!

Katie’s workout was great. She was attentive to my limitations, given this was only my second CrossFit class. She monitored my progress and gave me feedback on my techniques to ensure I was working the correct muscles. She also made adjustments to my workouts as needed, setting personalized realistic stretch goals for me!
As someone new to CrossFit, I couldn’t have asked for a better coach than Colleen. She breaks movements down into simple, easy-to-understand parts that build on each other—before you know it, you’re lifting with solid form and confidence. What I really appreciate is that she meets me where I am. She asks about my comfort level and abilities, helps me find scaled options that make sense, and never makes me feel out of place. At the same time, she doesn’t baby me—if she knows I can do more, she tells me and shows me how to do it safely and correctly. Her approach takes a lot of the intimidation out of CrossFit. I always leave her classes feeling like I learned something new and actually got better, which is exactly what I was hoping for when I started.

I enjoyed today’s workout. The tips Colleen gave for bench press, keeping heels on the ground and shoulders and hips on the bench with a curved back were helpful.

Class was ran well. Everything was scheduled well to give plenty of time between warm up, the workout, and cool down. Coach John was welcoming and helpful as was the rest of the class.
Johnathon was supportive, helping me learn the exercises, while getting to know me. He helped me to start learning how to climb a rope, something I had never done before.

Colleen was super helpful today. I was having trouble remembering the sequences for each of the different exercises and she would break each one down for me and watch my form to make sure I was doing them correctly! I really appreciate her coaching!
Call Sign: The Barbell Boss If Beyoncé and a rogue barbell had a baby, it would be Coach Bri. Precision, power, and just the right amount of sass—all wrapped up in one squat-racking, WOD-crushing legend. Bri doesn’t coach you through a workout, she summons your inner beast with a look, a lunge, and the occasional “Is that all you’ve got?” (Spoiler: it was.) She’s got the ability to count reps, correct form, and silently judge your protein intake—all at the same time. We’re still unclear if she was forged from cold steel or just raised on pre-workout and burpees. Either way, her coaching is elite. If Coleen is the #Kettlebell, Bri is the #Barbell: straight-up strength, solid as a rock, and guaranteed to humble you faster than Fran. 10/10 would cry during warm-up again.

After taking a few months off, coming back 4 months pregnant was nerve wracking, but Johnathon helped me feel comfortable with the exercises I did, and helped modify the workout to accommodate pregnancy restrictions. Super helpful and so glad to be back!
Encouraging but not afraid to make you sweat till you want to yack. Also- music is always on point!
Coach John did a great job of moving our class with fun and purpose. It was a heavy squat day and he came around to each of us giving cues or just letting us know how we were doing. Class was great as always!

Colleen was an excellent coach who made this gym feel so welcoming! CrossFit has always intimidated me, but the positive vibes, workout variations, and encouragement made it so much more comfortable. She pushed us while ensuring we did it in a safe setting.

She did amazing! She explained everything clearly and gave several ranges of exercises to hit everyone’s level. She was attentive to our form and helped correct when needed. She encouraged us and made it fun. I can tell that doing these kind of workouts over time would definitely build my strength and endurance!

This was my first cross fit experience and I was feeling a little anxious because I’d heard how tough it is. Bri was the coach for my first class; she made it fun and challenging, while encouraging/cheering everyone on throughout the workout. The other members were all fun and welcoming as well. Brianne is awesome to work with. She is a great teacher, very aware of proper body mechanics to prevent injury, and can easily modify exercises for anyone that needs it. She is super supportive and encouraging and makes the workouts fun.

Great experience! It can be very intimidating to show up to a new place, knowing you will be the only one that does not know anyone. But, Colleen was the first to greet me and introduce me to everyone. Colleen has a very positive attitude and good energy and made sure I knew what I was doing and that I was not getting lost in the prescribed workout. I will definitely be back!
I thought the class and the people were awesome! Overall it was a very positive environment. Honestly it was exactly what I was looking for, getting to try things that I'm unfamiliar with. I can't wait for it to become less foreign so I can push myself harder.

My husband and I dropped in while on vacation in Atlantic beach and had a great time! The gym is awesome and the people are just as amazing! If you’re in Atlantic beach I definitely recommend trying out this gym to get a great workout and meet a great group of people.

Dropped in from central IL and loved it! Such a welcoming environment and the members and Colleen made me feel right at home the second I walked in. Colleen was an awesome coach from a member point of view and as a coach at my home gym myself, I took some pointers I want to use with my own classes!
Brianne is a great instructor--as solid as they come. Very thorough explanations and demonstrations. Evident familiarity with most participants and the right amount of social interaction, without taking away from coaching. Excellent cues to improve mechanics, and she gave feedback to participants as she walked the room during the workout. Offered many ways to scale the movements for the differently-abled.

This was my first time at Crystal Coast CrossFit. Everyone was very welcoming. I felt like a regular. The gym is clean and well kept. Johnathan kept me accountable throughout the workout. He made sure my form was correct. He and the other trainers are very professional. This is a great gym to be apart of!
