One thing that makes CrossFit Port Clinton special is the personal coaching on nutrition and the consistent follow-ups when I don’t make it into the gym. I struggle with choosing healthy high-protein meals and snacks, so it means a lot that Lexi took time after class today to talk through what I am doing right and where I could improve my choices. She didn’t just give general advice - she listened to my daily habits and suggested specific adjustments that feel doable for me. Showing up for the workout is only half the battle for good health. The other half is learning about nutrition, and having that guidance makes me feel supported beyond just the physical training. It’s clear they care about helping me build sustainable habits, not just pushing through a workout.
Lexis did a great job explaining the work out and walking us through the warm up. It’s always hard to get to the gym in the morning but I cannot think of a time I have left and regretted getting there. Just show up the rest will works itself out. All Glory to God for my strength and resilience, and for placing a calling on Lex and Brett to not just start but maintain and grow a legacy of fitness in the community.
Sarah is very thorough and makes sure everyone warms up correctly. She also is attentive to anyone’s substitution needs for injury or mobility. Her personality is great for a Saturday morning.

I appreciated Erin’s prompt, during the squat therapy reps, to squeeze the shoulder blades to help keep arms off the wall. That cue helped me remember to engage those muscles! Thx!
Sarah did a great job explaining all of the moves, she was able to move around the entire gym and make sure everyone was using proper form. So happy to be able to challenge myself while coaching ensures proper form.
Stella is a laid back coach, but she knows exactly what she is talking about! During every session at CrossFit Port Clinton, she goes around the room carefully watching everyone’s form and technique. She offers great advice on how they can improve their movements or alter exercises to better fit their abilities or needs. I’ve seen her notice when someone’s posture is off and gently guide them to adjust their stance or recommend a lighter weight to avoid strain. She’s always upbeat and positive, bringing an encouraging energy that makes the workouts feel more achievable. You can really tell she truly enjoys coaching - the way she interacts with each person, checking in with smiles and enthusiasm, creates a welcoming and motivating atmosphere. It’s a wonderful balance of laid back and knowledge that makes training here feel both challenging and supportive.

Another great class today with Sal. From the warm up to the end, Sal always makes sure we fully understand the workout and stay on task. Even with 17 people in class, Sal had the workout running like a well oiled machine.

Sarah was such a great coach. During my workout at CrossFit Port Clinton, she carefully showed me modifications tailored to my level, making sure I could keep up without feeling overwhelmed. Whenever I started to struggle, she hyped me up with encouraging words that kept my energy and motivation high. Her support made the whole session feel doable yet challenging, and I left feeling proud of what I accomplished.
Brett does a great job of not only showing the moves, but giving helpful feedback as you do them. Through his advice, I have gotten better over time. He also acknowledges when your moves look better. His encouragement is the mark of a good coach and has helped me grow as an athlete.
I stated CrossFit recently and my first class was with Sal. I have practically zero experience in a gym and am very unfit. Sal made me feel welcome and helped scale to my abilities. He spent lots of time making sure my position was correct and I was getting the most out of class. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience with Sal and the rest of the team at CrossFit Port Clinton.
Sal did a great job of explaining the scaling options on today's workout. The chest to bar pull up is not quite in my skill set yet, and ring rows are too easy for me, so we settled on doing 3 negative pullups instead. That adjustment was just right - challenging enough to really work my muscles without feeling overwhelming. Sal stayed close, watching my form carefully and encouraging me to keep control on the way down. It felt like the perfect balance between pushing myself and staying safe. I’ve been training at CrossFit Port Clinton since September, and it has been a game-changer. Sal has been my main coach, and his focus on correct form and technique has helped me improve my strength week over week. He has a sharp eye—even in a full class, he never misses a rep, especially if I don’t hit that squat just right! Sal and the entire coaching staff are incredibly knowledgeable and eager to help. Beyond the technical training, what really stands out is the atmosphere. It truly feels like one big family. No matter what fitness level you start at, you are welcomed, encouraged, and celebrated in every single class. You’re guaranteed to work hard, improve, and have a laugh (usually on Stella’s behalf). I can't recommend Sal and this gym enough!

Brett was awesome. Coming back to the gym after being away for quite some time, I was definitely nervous about how I would keep up or if I’d even remember proper form. But right from the start, he was welcoming and understanding, which immediately put me at ease. Especially with other stuff going on in my life right now, his approach felt really personal - he took the time to listen and adjust the workouts to fit where I’m at physically and mentally. What stood out most was how knowledgeable he is; he noticed when I was struggling with certain movements and offered clear guidance to improve my form, which helped me avoid injury and build confidence. It wasn’t just about pushing through the workout, but feeling supported every step of the way. First class at CrossFit Port Clinton and I already feel like Rocky stepping into the ring. The workout was intense, mixing heavy lifts with fast-paced cardio that had my heart racing but kept me focused. The coach was very knowledgeable, guiding me through each move with clear instructions and encouragement, making sure my form was right and adjusting my weight when needed. Everyone was nice and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely worth it!
I never thought I’d be someone who works out at 5am, but as a mom of two, I decided that was the time of day where no one else needed me; so that’s when I could show up for myself. Right from day one, Sal was encouraging and helpful. His sense of humor keeps class fun, even when we’re all pushing through the toughest workouts.

I did a drop in class and Sarah made me feel welcome immediately. I have a recent shoulder injury and her suggestion to scale my pushups in a way I never did before was spot on. Well done Sarah. Workouts look a little different with my 9.5 month pregnant belly, but Sal helped modify the workout for me and I felt great the whole time. Pregnancy is so taxing on the body, but I always feel better after movement (and it helps reduce swelling!)

Erin has such a positive attitude and her energy is infectious. She kept Jaxon and I encouraged and motivated to keep going during the workout today. Afterwards, Jaxon (my kiddo) even said “I really liked that coach”. She made him feel very comfortable with it being his first week there!
I enjoyed how Sarah was encouraging in a gentle enough way I didn't feel guilty and yet she also made me feel like I could give myself the push I needed to do my best. I didn't realize I could do so much. I love how inclusive the class is despite my physical disabilities, I didn't feel out of place or less than anyone else. If only more gyms could help those handicapped to be able to exercise as fitness is important no matter if you have mobility issues or are fine with the standard way of doing things. I'll definitely be looking forward to going again and practicing what I learned at home!

What I really appreciate about Stella is the welcoming culture she creates. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or brand new to CrossFit, she makes everyone feel like they belong. She takes the time to explain each movement clearly and thoroughly, which makes a huge difference, especially for those who are like me, and are still building confidence or learning proper form. Stella creates a supportive, fun, and uplifting environment, and that’s all thanks to her encouragement, patience and leadership!
Brett has a way of simplifying things for me. He explains the movements and works with me until I get it! He is an inspirational coach and makes me want to give my all!

I kept doing my backsquats with my toes and knees in. Lex kept reminding me to point toes out and push out knees. Very helpful when I got to my max rep:)

During rowing workouts Kristen always take the time to correct my form. She sits on the rower and demonstrates herself to give me a visual plus verbal suggestions. There is truly a technique and she continuously helps to train me in areas that need work. This week I felt stronger than ever on the rower. All her coaching really came together. Today was my first class. I was really nervous and thought about not going. I am so glad I decided to go. Brett and everyone made me feel comfortable and welcomed.
I got Stella on my favorite day, heavy day! Like all the coaches, She always explains how to do it correctly and safely. Has you modify to your level of skill and fitness!
This was my first CrossFit class or anything like it ever, and it was great! Sal along with everyone else was super welcoming and helpful in having a great workout. Will be sore for a while!
I love coming to the 10a class with coach Kristin! She is patient with instructions and demonstrates how to complete the movement or modifications. Kristin teaches me ways to improve my form, which reduces the chance of injury. She creates a welcoming environment for people at all fitness levels.

I think Kristin does a wonderful job! She’s kind and definitely shows she cares about her members during each class sessions! Actually, this is true about all the coaches at CFPC. I have enjoyed the different stretches she has taught us at the end of each class. Love the availability of the 10am class!
