Joining CrossFit 271 has honestly been one of the best moves I’ve made for my health. The coaching is what stands out most. Each coach has their own style; some bring a lot of energy and push you to move with intensity, while others are more technical and focused on dialing in mechanics, but they all coach with purpose. They pay attention, they correct form, and they make sure you’re moving well before adding weight. Scaling is thoughtful, not random, so you feel challenged no matter your level. You’re not just following a workout on a board, you’re actually being coached. The community has a strong family feel. People know each other, support each other, and genuinely want to see everyone improve. At the same time, there’s a competitive edge that keeps things fun and motivating. You’ll get encouragement during a tough workout, but you’ll also feel that quiet push to keep up and do a little better than last time. It’s a good balance, supportive without being soft, competitive without being intimidating. Overall, it’s just a solid place to train. The programming makes sense, the coaching is consistent, and the environment makes it easy to keep showing up. If you want a gym where you’ll be coached well, pushed appropriately, and surrounded by people who take their training seriously but still enjoy it, this is it!
I enjoyed my class with Kristen. She took the time to give clear coaching tips throughout the workout. Kristen also knows how to encourage others in the class, offering motivating words without making it feel pressured. Her attention helped me push through some tough sets while feeling supported rather than overwhelmed. The energy in the gym was great, and Kristen’s guidance made me feel confident and capable by the end of the session. It’s that kind of coaching that makes coming to CrossFit 271 something I look forward to.
Coach Emma was great, had really good explanations and demos of the skills walked us through the progressions for the Olympic lift. She gave me a really good queue on front squat about driving up with my elbows. Helped me with power clean as well with a tip on being faster with my hips and a faster catch. I think class flowed well and I liked the coaching during the WOD as well on burpee pacing.
Emma was really informative, encouraging and helpful!
What can I say. My experience for the last few months has been nothing but amazing. The coaches really know what they're doing and they take their time to actually ensure that the your doing the workouts with correct shape and avoiding injury. The results definitely show and the body and mind feel amazing too. Thanks for everything you do.
Every coach that I have encountered has been awesome. Kathy and Dan are the sweetest people and really know how to cultivate a beautiful atmosphere. This is my first time doing CrossFit and I was very hesitant and nervous because it’s been awhile since I’ve worked out - but having been going the past 3 weeks, it’s been life changing truly. They know the perfect blend of pushing and when to not do too much. I always feel encouraged and really feel that sense of care when doing certain workouts I’ve never done before. Overall, my experience has been perfect. Looking forward to continue coming!
Even with larger classes, Dan is great at keeping eyes on everyone’s form and providing constructive and encouraging feedback. I’ve been dealing with some injuries and he’s always ready with alternatives that can help me meet the stimulus and still allow my body to recover. He knows how to meet you where you’re at, no matter the skill level, and knows how to push you to do your best.
I’ve had a few personal trainers in the past, but Kathy and the coaches at CrossFit 271 are a perfect blend of coaches and trainers. They don’t just count reps or call out exercises - they really watch your form closely, catching little things like wrist alignment or knee tracking that I wouldn’t notice myself. They offer adjustments that prevent injury before it happens, like gently correcting my posture mid-move or suggesting a lighter weight to protect my joints. It’s never boring; every class brings a new challenge, whether it’s a complex movement or a tough combination of exercises. I actually look forward to classes because the energy is motivating and the workouts push me in ways that feel rewarding. I always leave feeling stronger, with a clear sense that I’ve improved both my technique and stamina. During workouts, Kathy and the team check in regularly, not just to make sure you’re doing the reps but to see how you’re feeling physically and mentally. They suggest modifications when needed - like swapping a jump for a step-up if your knees are bothering you - and encourage you to push a little further when you’re ready. Because of their careful guidance, I always leave feeling stronger and accomplished, like I’ve truly made progress without risking getting hurt. The combination of their expertise and genuine attention makes each session both challenging and safe, which keeps me coming back. It’s the kind of place where you feel supported to test your limits but never pressured to go beyond what your body can handle.
This is the only gym I have been able to be consistent with. Started CrossFit for the first time 1.5 years ago and I love it. It's hard but you can scale excercises to your level. I feel stronger. I can squat and get up with no struggle. IYKYK☺️Coaches are the best and the community is wonderful. You will not feel like it's you vs a bunch of fit athletes. There are a range of levels and everyone is supportive! Come check it out!!
Not just a gym but a wonderful supportive community and knowledgeable coaches!
Every day is fun day even if my body is protesting. I really enjoy this box, the coaches encourage and push you with realistic levels - recognizing not all of us are 30. And it’s a friendly atmosphere that also helps the motivation. Glad yo have found CrossFit 271!
