What I appreciate about Clay is he is teaching me not only the mechanics of the exercise but how the respective exercise supports other muscles. I am truly learning how it is all connected. And I especially love that he is pushing me beyond my self-imposed limitations.

Coach Hannah is upbeat and knowledgeable. She consistently challenges me to push myself. I’d like to challenge her not to consistently skip any Dashboard songs, even though they sold out on MTV Unplugged and became overrated, Vindicated is still a good workout song. It does pick up after the first verse. I’d also challenge her to play some new Eminem, when certain other members are not present, of course. On days when the membership skews older, Phil Collins “in the air tonight” would be great, but I do fear we wouldn’t make it through the first three and a half minutes. I do have to admit, I have trouble understanding her work outs. I believe she could write them less complicated. Not all of us have a phd in fitness. All in all, Coach Hannah is a great coach and deserves a raise. Five stars, would recommend.

If you want a fitness coach who can whip you into shape while reminding you that the Jets are still trying to figure out how to win a game, then this is your guy! I’ve never done so many burpees while simultaneously hearing about the latest Jets' "strategy" (or lack thereof).

I really like how his classes also incorporate additional stretches before the strengthening portion of the workout. Makes a big difference during my strength portion. In general, I really like his coaching style, creates a supportive environment, he equals supports everyone, not just the individuals lifting heavy, which is a large part why I enjoy his classes.

Samantha is lovely. I showed up with zero prior knowledge or attempts and she listened and taught with patience and managed to still support me despite it being a group class. Her class atmosphere is great. I didn't feel stupid for not knowing or not catching on right away. I genuinely feel like I learned something and I left wanting to learn more.

This was my first class at Pick-it-up after an intro session. I went in feeling some imposter syndrome - “I’m not fit enough”, etc. Sammy made the instructions clear and provided feedback throughout. I made adjustments with my weights throughout the sets. Overall, my workout was just right; tiring but also enjoyable and energizing. I’m a bit sore but not injured, which was a fear going in. I can’t wait to go to my second session. Pick-it-up is a great place to work out for people of all fitness levels; there were participants lifting serious weights and me. It’s got a cool vibe, too!
